The renovation of Rock Buddha Temple
Rock Buddha Temple has more than one thousand history.
With its glorious time in history, a town was built around the temple
in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Later, due to invasion of outsiders and
wars, the temple became desolated. Now with the purpose of renewing
historic remains, Zhongzheng Property service decided to renew Rock
Buddha Temple to continue its spirit. And Master Mingzang was invited
to take charge of the temple.
28 Nov. 2007, the inception ceremony of renew was held in the site
of Rock Buddha Temple. This ceremony marked the start of the official
reconstruction project.
20 May 2008, construction of Rock Buddha Temple Meditation Center
started.
10 Jun. 2008, gate to a monastery and monk residence of Rock Buddha
Temple in Plum Blossom Continent was begun to build.
26 Aug. 2008, the foundation of Rock Buddha Temple Main Hall in
Plum Blossom Continent was laid.
In order to renew historic sites, Zhongzheng Property Service will
invest 4 billion in the reconstruction of Rock Buddha Temple and the
development of tourism around it. The renewed Rock Buddha Temple will
include glorious Main Hall, high Buddha Tower, culture-rich Meditation
Courtyard and Reading Room for advocacy Buddhist culture. It will
become a famous Buddhist place for blessing and meditation. Furthermore,
it will constitute an important part of resident's spiritual life. |
